Faces of MV: Posse Scholar Claire Inzerillo

By: Gabrielle Ssewankambo

"After being notified that I got the scholarship, I was silent. When they called me after the final interview and told me, I thought it was a joke. Of course I ran downstairs and told my parents. They were ecstatic.

Not only am I receiving a full-tuition scholarship to a prestigious liberal arts college, but I'm receiving an experience. I'm forming lasting bonds before I even step foot on campus. I regularly meet with the nine other members of my Posse. Seeing them each week just makes me more excited to start college.
The Pre-Collegiate Training we do each week ensures that we will be well prepared to take on college life this fall. Our two "trainers" Howard and Allison email us almost every day with reminders, and uplifting stories from other Posse scholars. It makes me so proud that I will be joining an elite group of graduates after college. The Posse network is vast, with scholars going on to become CEOs, entrepreneurs, lawyers, and more. After graduation, I will have an entire network of graduates and companies helping me find a job. The benefits of the Posse Scholarship are so immense, and it's no wonder why former President Barack Obama awarded some of his Noble Prize money to the Posse Foundation. They are helping extraordinary students find success after high school, and make life-long connections as well." -Claire Inzerillo
