Mystic Valley Regional Charter School has approached the state of Massachusetts requesting a cap increase, and, as of now, it is very likely that this proposed idea will be granted.

PSATease: He and Nguyen seek test takers' opinions on recent exams

On October 14, 2015, approximately 3.5 million sophomores and juniors attending high schools all across the nation took either the PSAT/NMSQT, or, in other words, the Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Whether or not they bombed or aced the PSATs, students will receive their scores in December of 2015 or early January of 2016. Sophomores at Mystic Valley took the test for practice, because next year, students will be aiming for a scholarship, which is what the juniors faced last Wednesday.

How much is too much?: Analyzing the Extended Essay and other IB deadlines

As the school year is quickly moving along, the class of 2016 is trying to spot the light at the end of the tunnel. This is seemingly impossible, though, due to all of the upcoming deadlines. The consensus from seniors seems to be that the Extended Essay, or “EE”, is the most daunting of them all.
The EE is one of many assessments needed to achieve the IB Diploma. Students are allowed a decent amount of leeway when it comes to creating their essay in the sense that it is based on a subject matter of their choosing, and it may not exceed 4,000 words.

Eagles soar over GLTHS in 2-1 decision

The Mystic Valley Regional Charter School varsity girls’ soccer team scored their first win in seven games with a 2-1 victory at home over Greater Lowell Technical High School on October 13th, improving their record to 3-8-2.

Crew Slew!

      Kicking off with fall sports, the crew team of Mystic Valley has been practicing rigorously from four to six in the afternoon. If you do not know, the crew team specializes in rowing boats and to test their skill against other crew teams. The crew matches are called crew meets.
