“What some people don’t understand about Key Club is that it is so much more than just a community service club at Mystic Valley. Key Club is an international organization in which there are over 260,000 members worldwide. Key Club provides its members with the opportunity to lead at either the club, divisional, district, or international level. As District Secretary this past year, I was inspired by the abundance of community service activities that high-schoolers were performing all over New England. Our generation is truly changing the world, whether that be by providing less fortunate families with holiday gifts or by raising thousands of dollars to supply clean water in developing countries. Even the simplest of service activities, such as washing our school’s whiteboards or leaving positive notes on everyone’s lockers, are necessary to create a functioning and prosperous community.

I would like to give one last thank you to Key Club for providing my high school experience with meaning and memories. Thank you for showing me what it means to be a globally aware citizen, and for introducing me to some of my greatest friends living all over New England. Thank you to last year’s board for all their support, and a special shout out to our selfless, caring Immediate Past President Danielle Dailey. Thank you, Key Club, for inspiring me to give back to our great world.”
