d'Entremont: Women march for rights, in opposition to newly-elected President Trump

By Mary d’Entremont

The day after President Trump was inaugurated into the White House, millions of women gathered around the world in protest to March on Washington, and in many other cities such as Boston, Chicago, London, and many more cities nationwide.

In Boston, there were many speakers, but the spotlight shined mostly upon Senator Elizabeth Warren. Warren spoke about how the results of the election will not divide us and that this is what democracy looks like. She mentioned that this is not the way of our nation and we need to remind the new administration of how things are run.

It was truly amazing to see all types of people come together and be able to stand side by side for a common cause. This will be an event in history to remember. We do not know what will happen with the new administration for four more years, but we do know that together we stand, and divided we fall. In the end something very important to remember is that you have a voice and no matter what you do with that voice it will be heard, and it does matter.
